Built for the Shriners in 1926, the theater and events complex was designed in the Moorish Revival architectural style with an Egyptian inspired grand ballroom, terra cotta details and decorative tile work. As part of Wilson Butler Architects’ complete renovation and restoration, Cajolet Design was asked to design the wayfinding and donor recognition to elevate the theater-goer's experience and recognize the charitable gifts that made the project possible.
In the framework of the implementation of the new brand and building identity the new electronic marquee takes advantage of the latest technology and brings a modern touch to the historic theater.

As part of Arrowstreet’s design for a multi-level below grade parking facility, the opportunity to showcase Harvard’s extensive museum collections emerged early as a way to complement a more typical, color-coded approach to level identification. Custom graphics were created from archaeology, science and technology, fine art and natural history image compilations. The content and vibrant colors were used to wrap structural columns, elevator lobbies and accent walls to help patrons remember where they parked.

International Cruise Line
Studio B was conceived as a new kind of performance venue. The prevailing astrology and astronomy theme sets a celestial mood that creates a robust sense of place. It is an interchangeable, multi-function, 900-seat arena featuring the first ice rink at sea. With a retractable deck cover, telescopic seating and a raised stage, the space can also be reconfigured as a theater or television studio.

This landmark building was the first new theatre built in Boston in over 75 years. Shared by the Huntington Theatre Co. and the Boston Center for the Arts, the signage and graphics needed to speak to both the experimental black box studio as well as the more conventional proscenium theatre.

Artists that performed at the Bushnell graced the walls of the theatre by literally signing their names on the walls of the backstage green room. In an effort to preserve the signatures and display them more publicly, sections of the room were scanned and recreated on edge-lit sandblasted glass panels in the main lobby.

As part of it’s 20th anniversary and $52 million expansion, Cajolet Design was contracted to design and implement wayfinding, code signs and donor recognition. A thoughtful site specific approach was taken to complement the existing building while also projecting forward in the architectural styling of the new pavilion.

The wayfinding brought vitality and renewed interest to the New England Aquarium by enhancing the visitor arrival experience.
